Lot 242 Oliver Ellsworth

War-dated manuscript DS, signed “O. Ellsworth,” one page, 8.5 x 6.25, May 20, 1777. Ellsworth directs the Treasurer to pay “Twenty one shilling & ten pence for administering to a Massachusetts sick soldier.” Docketing on the reverse. In very good condition, with intersecting folds, uniform toning, a few mild areas of soiling, a tear to the right edge, light show-through from writing on the reverse, and a faint pencil notation to the bottom right corner.
